Klamath Blues Society Announces Target Charity for 2010 Festival.
The Klamath Blues Society (KBS) is proud to announce the target charity for their 3rd Annual Klamath Blues Festival on September 18th 2010. The KBS board of director’s, after long debates and extra meetings chose Badger Run Wildlife Rehab a 501(C)3 to be the target charity for the 2010 festival.
Liz Diver, of Badger Run gave a great presentation with a description of the organizations serious charitable need. Liz has a vision for the rehab center but struggles just to keep the current bills paid and the animals feed. Liz wants Badger Run to become not only a top notch rehab center for regional wildlife, but an education facility and tourist destination. Other rehab centers around the country have created similar successful wildlife rehab centers to help sustain its operations.
But just feeding the animals is a full time job and financial drain. Badger Run needs more animal cadges, larger aviaries, major landscaping work for safe walkways, money for medical treatments, and food always food.
Located in Keno, Badger Run met all the requirements KBS was looking for in a target charity and Liz’s passion for her cause cinched the deal. We are happy Badger Run will receive the lion’s share of festival profits. Our hope is that the media exposure will increase community awareness of what Badger Run, and the funds we donate will help further Liz’s vision for the center, and help increase her release rates and effectiveness.
