SPONSORSHIP:

The festival has been in the planning phase for around five years. In 2007, KBS applied for a Klamath County Tourism Grant, and was awarded $7,000 to be used for advertising and promotion only. This constraint, although great for the advertising budget, left KBS with the need for additional sponsorship to secure performers and a large headline act.

The Ross Ragland has been contracted to provide the professional sound system, techs, and expert sound engineer (sound man). In addition, the theater will be the alternate host site for the festival in case of bad weather. We’ve contracted Stageline, the leading West Coast designer and manufacturer of mobile stages to provide a 20’x24’ stage. The stage will have large sponsor promotional space for banners in prime locations.

Roof banner supports to increase promotional and sponsorship visibility.

Horizontal 37' x 4' (11.3 m x 1.2 m)

Vertical left and right 15' x 6' (4.6 m x 1.8 m).

There is a limited amount of sponsorship available, and once the tier is filled there will be no other opportunity to sponsor except advertising in the event schedule which will also be limited.

BLUES SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP:

There are many benefits to becoming a member of the Blues Society. It is one of the most active networking groups in the Klamath Basin. Over the past ten years KBS has raised thousands of dollars for other organizations and charitable causes. For the past six years KBS has planned, produced, and promoted a successful Annual Christmas Charity Concert benefiting organizations such as:

  • Klamath Youth Development Center (2002-2004)
  • Klamath Crisis Center (2005-2006)
  • Klamath County Library (2007)

Some of the other ways KBS helps the community is to perform for free at other organization’s fund raisers and community events. Some of these are as follows:

  • Klamath Lake County Food Bank
  • Klamath Community College (KCC) (Graduation Ceremony 2004)
  • Oregon Institute of Technology (Fundraiser 2004)
  • Fourth of July Celebration (2006-2007)
  • Third Thursday Celebration (2005-2007)
  • Klamath County Art Council (Art Fair 2005-2007)
  • Department of Fish and Wildlife (Migratory Bird Day 2006)
  • The Sons’ of American Legion (Veterans Memorial Fund 2007)
  • National Wildlife Refuge (Migratory Bird Festival 2007)
  • Klamath County Chamber of Commerce (Donation of services for raffle, purchased by KCC for $400 2007) • Numerous other events in Veterans Park (2002-2007)
  • Kinetic Sculpture Race (June 29, 2008)
  • Ewauna Rowing Club (Henley Regatta 2008)
  • Weekly Blues Jam to support local musical talents (1997-200?)

KBS is not limited to just performing, although that is our strong suite. We award a College Scholarship each year to a local high school graduate who demonstrates academic excellence and musical talent, because we believe that music is an integral part of a well-rounded education.

KBS is also a member of the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce, the Ross Ragland Theater, The Cascade Blues Association, and The International Blues Foundation.
