Welcome to the first annual Klamath Blues Festival. Klamath
Falls is a growing community, and with that growth has come a development
of the arts. We feel the area is ripe for a festival of this caliber,
bringing national acts, tourists, and music lovers of all ages to picturesque
Lake
Ewauna for one full day of entertainment. Veterans Park is conveniently
located in downtown Klamath Falls just blocks from hotels, restaurants,
shops, and boutiques. What better time than early September for an
outdoor concert event?. The fall weather is traditionally beautiful in
Klamath with average temperatures in the high seventies and low eighties.
Featuring the amazing Tommy Castro
Band, this year’s Blues Music
Awards recipient of the BB King Blues Entertainer of the Year, while their
album 'Painkiller' was awarded Contemporary Blues Album of the
Year!
We will also be presenting the spectacular Insomniacs,
one of the hottest acts on the West Coast today. Winner of the prestigious MUDDY award
and many other blues
awards. They are not to be missed.
We will also be spotlighting the one and only Craig
Allen Blues Band who will make you 'Grab the Rafters' and scream
for more.
Playing serious traditional style blues, one of the biggest acts
from the East Coast circuit; Baltimore Red Jones, Harry Harpoon and
Dean Oliver.
Opening our full day of Blues by the Lake will be the powerhouse
blues trio, The Dave
Amour Band, producing a huge sound from three veteran
musicians/entertainers who play blues as it should be played!
Micro brews, food, and various vendors will be on hand! General admission
is$15, while ANY Blues Society Member will be$10. Kids under
12 are free. Festival proceeds benefit the Veterans Memorial Project
and the
Klamath
Blues
Society's
Scholarship Fund.
